MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Piper Jaffray has expanded its financial restructuring team with the addition of David Sweig to the firm's Chicago office. Sweig, a managing director, joins the six-person financial restructuring team in New York.

Sweig joins the firm with more than 17 years of experience advising clients on financial restructurings. Most recently, he worked at Giuliani Capital Advisors LLC in Chicago, where he was a managing director focused on financial restructurings. During his career, Sweig has worked with companies such as ANC Rental, Boston Market, Chart Industries, EaglePicher Holdings, Fruit of the Loom, Kmart Corp., Revlon, Salton and Southern States Cooperative.

Sweig earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Tufts University in Medford, Mass., and a master's degree in management from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Business at Northwestern University in Chicago.
