PALO ALTO, CALIF. — Feb. 15, 2007—In an effort to continue growth of the Piper Jaffray investment banking business, the firm has named Murray Huneke co-head of the Investment Banking team. Huneke, current managing director and co-head of the consumer investment banking team, will continue to oversee the consumer efforts but will also focus on the growth of the firm's West Coast investment banking business which includes alternative energy and technology. Huneke is located in the firm's Palo Alto office and will report to Jon Salveson, head of Investment Banking.

Huneke has more than 17 years of investment banking experience and has been at Piper Jaffray since 2002, when he was hired as co-head of consumer investment banking. Huneke and co-head of consumer investment banking Scott Larue, have led the team to complete 45 IPO and follow-on offerings and 37 M&A advisory assignments for consumer companies, more than any other firm since Jan. 1, 2004.

Huneke holds a master of business administration degree from Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass., and a bachelor's degree in economics from Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif.
