Ariel Levin is a managing director and global co-head of chemicals investment banking at Piper Sandler.

Levin was one of the four founders of The Valence Group and has over 20 years of investment banking experience. Since 2000 he has focused exclusively on M&A in the chemicals and materials sectors, making him one of the world’s longest-tenured chemicals investment bankers. Levin has worked in both North America and Europe, giving him an international perspective on not only clients but also the transaction execution issues that are specific to each jurisdiction.

Since co-founding The Valence Group in 2008, Levin has been heavily involved in driving both client management and transaction execution. His clients include some of the largest chemical companies and the highest profile sector-focused private equity firms.

Prior to co-founding The Valence Group, Levin was a senior member of Bear Stearns’ European chemicals investment banking group, based in London, which he helped develop into a market leader in the sector. Prior to that, he was a member of Bear Stearns’ general industrials group based in New York.

Levin earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and economics from Tufts University.
