Chris Cozza joined the Piper Sandler insurance investment banking group in 2014. He is responsible for mergers, acquisitions and capital raising assignments within the life/health, property/casualty, distribution and services sectors.
At Piper Sandler, Cozza has advised on a wide range of transactions, including MetLife’s Board of Directors on the spin-off of Brighthouse Financial, United Fire Group on the sale of United Life Insurance Company to Kuvare, USI Insurance Services on the sale of Univers Workplace Solutions to Aon, Century Equity Partners on the sale of Social Security Advocates for the Disabled to Brown and Brown, Kuvare on the acquisition of Guaranty Income Life Insurance Company and the sale of The Phoenix Companies to Nassau Reinsurance Group. He has also executed equity and debt capital raising transactions, including Kingstone Companies and Atlas Financial Holdings.
Cozza also has extensive experience in a variety of corporate development, investment management and actuarial roles at some of the largest insurance companies, including MassMutual Financial Group, John Hancock Financial Services and Nassau Financial Group. He led the acquisitions of Foresters Life Insurance and Annuity Company and Dedicated Distribution Partners and served as a portfolio manager for a $1 billion portfolio of alternative assets.
Cozza graduated from Trinity College with a bachelor's degree in economics. He became a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) in 2013.
