Peter Stettler is an award-winning analyst and brings over 25 years of experience in credit research and consulting to the Piper Sandler financial strategies group where he supports the firm’s sales and public finance efforts by focusing on general credit issues affecting the market.

Prior to joining Piper Sandler, Stettler worked in the municipal research department of two investment banks, BMO Capital Markets GKST, Inc. and EVEREN Securities, Inc.; the tax-supported and transportation groups at Fitch Ratings, where he co-led the airports rating team and served on the criteria committee; and the finance practice of Ricondo & Associates, Inc.

Stettler is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and has been recognized for his coverage of important industry issues as a recipient of the Award of Excellence from the National Federation of Municipal Analysts (NFMA) and being named as a Second Team All-American Analyst – Airports by Smith’s Ratings and Research Review 10 times. Stettler served on the boards of the NFMA and the Chicago Municipal Analyst Society, and has been active in various industry groups including the finance committee of Airports Council International – North America and the lease task force for the Governmental Accounting Standards Board.

He holds a master's degree in public administration – urban management and a bachelor's degree in political science from Northern Illinois University.
