Emmett Daly

Emmett J. Daly is a managing director in the financial services group at Piper Sander and was a principal at Sandler O’Neill & Partners, L.P. His responsibilities include a broad range of M&A and capital markets work for banks, broker-dealers and asset management firms. Daly has more than 30 years of senior investment banking experience.

Prior to joining Sandler O’Neill in 2003, he spent three years with Merrill Lynch, where he was a managing director in the financial institutions group, overseeing its mid-cap bank and thrift practice. Before joining Merrill Lynch, he was a managing director in Keefe, Bruyette & Woods’ investment banking group where he worked for 13 years.

Daly’s M&A experience totals over $50 billion in transaction value and includes National Penn Bancshares’s merger with BB&T Corp, Beneficial Bancorp’s merger with WSFS Financial and City National Corp’s merger with the Royal Bank of Canada. In addition, Daly has raised billions of private and public capital for banks, broker dealers and FinTech companies.

Daly serves on the board of trustees at the College of the Holy Cross. He is also the president and a trustee for the Student/Partner Alliance, a scholarship and mentoring program that has provided over 2,100 scholarships to low-income, inner-city students in Newark, N.J.

He holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the College of the Holy Cross.
