Chris Collins is a managing director in the Piper Sandler healthcare investment banking group, covering biotechnology companies. Collins is based in the firm’s San Francisco office.
Collins has successfully represented biotechnology clients in transactions with an aggregate transaction value exceeding $28 billion, including more than $13 billion of M&A and over $15 billion of capital markets transactions. Prior to joining Piper Sandler in 2014, Collins was a senior calling officer in the biotech banking groups at Citigroup and Credit Suisse. Prior to Citigroup and Credit Suisse, Collins was on the buy-side for more than eight years, including three years at a hedge fund he started and five years as an associate at Frazier Healthcare Ventures, a leading biotechnology venture capital firm. Prior to Frazier Healthcare Ventures, he was an analyst in the global healthcare and leverage finance groups at Morgan Stanley.
Collins holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Stanford University and a master’s degree in biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University. He is also a CFA® charterholder.
