Emmett J. Daly is a managing director in the financial services group at Piper Sandler and was a principal at Sandler O’Neill & Partners, L.P. His practice is focused on M&A and capital markets work for banks, broker-dealers and asset management firms. Daly has spent more than 30 years advising CEOs and boards on finding solutions to strategic challenges.
   
Prior to joining Sandler O’Neill in 2003, he spent three years with Merrill Lynch, where he was a managing director in the financial institutions group, overseeing the mid-cap bank and thrift practice. Before joining Merrill Lynch, he was a managing director in Keefe, Bruyette & Woods’s investment banking group.
   
Daly serves on the board of trustees at his alma mater, the College of the Holy Cross. He is also the president and a trustee for the Student/Partner Alliance, a scholarship and mentoring program that has provided over 3,000 scholarships to low-income, inner-city high school students in Newark, New Jersey.
   
He holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, a graduate degree from NYU’s Schack School of Real Estate and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the College of the Holy Cross.
