Jere McGuffee is a specialist in devising creative financing techniques to meet the needs of municipal clients with over 30 years of experience. These techniques include escrow optimization and restructuring, monetization of debt service funds and forward issuance of bonds, purchase in lieu of redemptions and tender of outstanding bonds and interest rate swaps. McGuffee has vast experience in structured finance and working with issuers to restructure large portions of their debt. McGuffee has served on the SIFMA Municipal Securities Committee on behalf of Piper Sandler since 2017.
Prior to opening a Memphis office for Piper Sandler, McGuffee spent his career both in the Southeast as well as on Wall Street working with regional, national and international firms such as Ernst & Young, Morgan Keegan, Bear Stearns and Deutsche Bank. He has a bachelor’s degree in finance from Memphis State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Emory University.
