Max Kaftal is a managing director in the financial services group at Piper Sandler. He is responsible for executing merger and acquisition and capital raising transactions for public and private companies in the insurance industry. Kaftal has executed transactions with retail and wholesale insurance brokers, managing general agents and underwriters, auto warranty administrators and agents, claims services and administration companies, and P&C and life insurance underwriters.
Previously, he was a director in the investment banking group of Sandler O’Neill + Partners, L.P. Prior to joining Sandler O'Neill, Kaftal was a trader at Balyasny Asset Management.
Kaftal graduated summa cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis with a bachelor's degree in economics, and was awarded the Minsky Prize for Undergraduate Excellence in Economics.
