Peter Lombard is a managing director in the technology investment banking group, vice chairman of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and chairs the fairness opinion review committee at Piper Sandler.

Lombard has more than three decades of investment banking experience with a primary focus on M&A in technology, tech-enabled services, information and marketing services, and healthcare. Recent transactions include representing DentalPlans.com in its sale to Internet Brands, Innocoll Plc in its sale to Gurnet Point Capital, Medtronic Plc in the divestiture of its Patient Recovery Business to CardinalHealth, AuthenTec in its sale to Apple; Stratasys in its merger with Tel Aviv-based Objet Ltd., C Space in its sale to Omnicom, and Switch & Data Facilities Company in its merger with Equinix Inc.

Prior to joining Piper Sandler in 2008, Lombard was a managing director in the M&A group at Jefferies & Company. Previously, he headed Cowen & Company's M&A group and ran the Boston investment banking office of Robertson Stephens, where he also co-headed the M&A Group. He began his investment banking career in M&A at Merrill Lynch in New York City.

Lombard is a former independent board member of the SCS Hedged Opportunities Fund, LLC and a past member of the board of the Boston Philharmonic. He previously served three terms on the foundation board of the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, where he was vice chairman and treasurer.

Lombard received his bachelor's degree from Harvard College and a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School.
