Robert Urquhart joined the energy & power investment banking group at Piper Sandler in 2020.
Previously, Urquhart was a managing director within the energy investment banking group at Scotiabank, where he focused primarily on upstream. Prior to that, he was an associate at Madison Williams and a Portfolio Manager at PEAK6 Investments. Urquhart has completed a wide range of transactions including corporate mergers & acquisitions, asset divestitures, joint ventures, public and private equity financings, strategic alternatives, and restructurings. Urquhart focuses on the upstream sector and has worked on over 40 successful transactions, representing greater than $20 billion in aggregate value.
Urquhart graduated from Princeton University with a bachelor’s degree in political economics. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree with concentrations in finance and accounting from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
