MINNEAPOLIS, Apr 06, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) --Piper Jaffray & Co. today announced the hiring of Peter Schwab as managing director and group head of restructuring, and Teri Stratton as managing director. Schwab is based in Chicago and Stratton is based in Los Angeles. These senior hires expand the existing team based in New York.

Peter Schwab joined Piper Jaffray from Macquarie Capital, where he was a senior member of the restructuring team and head of the retail and consumer products team. Schwab has more than 28 years of experience in assisting companies with restructurings and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to Macquarie Capital, he was COO of Giuliani Capital Advisors and prior to that, president and national head of restructuring of the investment banking subsidiary of Ernst and Young. Schwab has a bachelor's degree in economics and Russian and a master's degree in accounting from Rice University in Houston.

Teri Stratton has spent 10 years focused on providing capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, and restructuring advisory services to companies across many industries. Prior to her investment banking career, Stratton spent eight years in corporate banking, serving in both credit administration and special assets. Stratton joined Piper Jaffray from Macquarie Capital and its predecessor firms. She has a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of California at Los Angeles and a master of business administration degree in finance from the The Anderson School at UCLA.
