Alexander Potter

Alex Potter is a managing director and senior research analyst with a focus on electric and autonomous vehicles, space, and robotics. In particular, he focuses on how disruptors (e.g. Tesla, SpaceX, and rival Chinese brands) are impacting incumbent supply chains. Prior to joining Piper Sandler in 2008, he worked as a Beijing-based consultant to the World Bank. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and holds degrees from St. Olaf College (B.A., Asian Studies) and the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management (Master of Business Administration). Potter was also a 2003 Fulbright Scholar at Peking University's College of Environmental Sciences.
