Anna Starks
Anna Starks is a vice president in the Piper Sandler public finance group, based in Minneapolis, where she partners with cultural and social nonprofits across the country to develop and execute creative financing solutions. Her work includes advising museums, social service and community nonprofits and private educational institutions on complex capital projects and strategic transactions. Starks is actively engaged in the arts sector, advising cultural institutions across the Twin Cities and nationally and currently serving on the Minnesota chapter of the Smithsonian Women’s History Museum.
Before joining Piper Sandler, Starks worked in Washington, D.C., on USAID’s HIV/AIDS medicine distribution program as well as within the Democracy, Human Rights and Labor Bureau of the U.S. Department of State. She brings a strong foundation in mission-driven global work to her culturally focused public finance practice. Starks graduated summa cum laude from the University of St. Thomas with degrees in international economics, political science and French. She serves on the board of Minnesota Women in Public Finance and the associate board of Girls on the Run Minnesota, and she holds Series 50, 52 and 63 licenses.
