Anna Starks

Anna Starks is a vice president in the Piper Sandler public finance group, based in Minneapolis, where she helps cultural and social nonprofits across the country achieve their goals through creative financing solutions. Her clients include independent schools, private universities, arts organizations and local community nonprofits. Recent highlights include underwriting public issues for Southern Oregon Goodwill and St. Olaf College, as well as multiple transactions within the City of Saint Paul, where Starks is an actively involved community member. On these transactions and others, Starks has been known for her deep deal involvement and client-first approach.

Before joining Piper Sandler, Starks worked in Washington, D.C. on USAID’s HIV/AIDS medicine distribution program as well as within the Democracy, Human Rights and Labor Bureau of the U.S. Department of State. She brings her past experience to her work at Piper Sandler by combining mission-driven commitment with technical expertise. 

Starks graduated summa cum laude from the University of St. Thomas with a bachelor’s degree in international economics, political science and French. She serves on the board of Minnesota Women in Public Finance and the associate board of Girls on the Run Minnesota and holds Series 50, 52 and 63 licenses.
