Bat Taniguchi

Bat Taniguchi joined Piper Sandler in January 2021. He is responsible for providing municipal underwriting services to public entities including cities, counties, school districts, special districts and hospital districts throughout Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. He also provides quantitative analysis and deal execution for other bankers on the Texas team.

Prior to joining Piper Sandler, he worked as a financial advisor and investment banker at Hilltop Securities and as a credit analyst specializing in governments and non-profits at Frost Bank.

Taniguchi graduated from Colorado State University in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with concentrations in investment analysis and real estate finance. He has also earned a professional certificate in municipal finance from the University of Chicago. Taniguchi currently serves on the City of Austin’s Historic Landmark Commission and Downtown Commission. He holds Series 50, Series 52 and 63 licenses.
