Dick Schober
Dick Schober is a managing director in the Piper Sandler public finance department. His banking and advisory business is focused on ports, cities, public power and transportation agencies, but he also has experience working with school districts, counties, special purpose districts, nonprofits and assessment districts. He offers a full range of public finance skills to his municipal clients, including debt structuring and origination, credit strategy and rating agency coordination, derivatives, public-private partnerships and variable-rate products, including variable-rate demand bonds, put bonds and floating-rate notes.
Schober has a diverse banking and advisory background, having worked since 1987 with almost every type of municipal entity. During his career, he has worked with municipal governments in Washington, Oregon, California, Alaska and Arizona. Before joining Piper Sandler, he was a vice president and senior investment banker at a large Wall Street firm. He worked for Piper Sandler from 1993 to 2004, holding the title of vice president, and before that, was a vice president at a regional investment bank covering mostly issuers in Washington state from 1987 to 1993.
Schober earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Washington State University and holds Series 4, 7, 50, 52, 53, 54 and 63 licenses.
