Dustin Avey

Dustin Avey is a managing director and co-head of public finance at Piper Sandler. He brings 20 years of experience providing financial advisory and investment banking services to governmental entities and developers. Avey primarily serves cities, counties, school districts, hospitals and developers in planning and implementing their financing objectives. He is well-versed in all aspects of local government, hospital, school district and economic development finance, and he specializes in debt structuring, bond refinancings, bond elections, capital improvement planning, incentive financings and private development finance.

Prior to joining Piper Sandler in 2007, Avey worked in the public finance group of a regional investment bank. Avey is involved in the Kansas Association of School Business Officials, Kansas Association of School Boards, Kansas/Missouri Superintendents Forum, League of Kansas Municipalities, Kansas Government Finance Officers Association, Kansas Association of City/County Management and Kansas Hospital Association.

Avey graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor's degree in finance.
