Emily Needell is the deputy chief investment strategist at Piper Sandler for the portfolio strategy team. Needell has been with the portfolio strategy & quantitative research team since 2010 and brings nearly two decades of experience on Wall Street. Emily forecasts macro trends and specializes in bridging the gap between forward-looking macro themes and portfolio positioning & stock selection. Prior to joining the firm, Needell was the deputy chief investment strategist at Cornerstone Macro where she worked since the firm's inception in 2013. Prior to Cornerstone, Emily was a research associate at Wolfe Trahan & Co. on the portfolio strategy and quantitative research team. She started her career at LaBranche & Co. on the NYSE floor. Emily studied engineering and business and graduated with a bachelor's degree from Cornell University. She is a CFA Charterholder.
