Emily Needell is the deputy chief investment strategist at Piper Sandler for the portfolio strategy team. Needell bring more than a decade of experience and focuses on forecasting macro trends. She specializes in bridging the gap between forward-looking macro themes and portfolio positioning and stock selection.Prior to joining the firm, Needell was a research associate at Wolfe Trahan & Co. on the portfolio strategy and quantitative research team. She started her career at LaBranche & Co. with an internship on the NYSE floor.Needell studied engineering and business and graduated with a bachelor’s degee from Cornell University. She is a CFA charterholder.
