Jimmy Troy

Jimmy Troy is a managing director in the financial services group at Piper Sandler. He joined the firm in 2025 and specializes in investment banking coverage for banks and thrifts across the Western U.S. and Rockies regions.

Troy brings more than 20 years of investment banking experience advising financial services clients on mergers, acquisitions and capital markets transactions. Most recently, he served as a managing director at Stephens Inc. and as a senior vice president at Jefferies LLC, where he focused primarily on depository institutions as well as brokerage firms, trading companies and market structure entities. Troy also worked as an investment banker at Hovde Financial after beginning his financial services career in the audit practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he earned his Certified Public Accountant designation (now inactive).

Throughout his professional experience, Troy has executed a wide array of M&A, debt and equity transactions representing over $15 billion in aggregate value. Troy holds a bachelor's degree in business economics from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and is based in San Diego, California.
