John Jungmann
Dr. John Jungmann joined Piper Sandler in 2026 as a managing director and municipal bond underwriter in Missouri, focusing his efforts on serving public school districts and communities throughout the state.
Jungmann is well-versed in all aspects of Missouri school district finance. As a leading bond underwriter, he specializes in bond elections, capital improvement planning, budget strategy, debt structuring and refinancings. He started his career in public finance in 2021, serving as vice president of investment services for PTMA, where he helped grow the MOCAAT fund to more than $4.5 billion in assets.
Prior to his career in public finance, Jungmann served as a strategic and visionary leader in Missouri schools for more than 23 years. During his tenure, he championed efforts to support students and school districts through advocacy, collaboration and partnership. His previous professional experience includes service as superintendent of schools in the Springfield, Liberty and Monett school districts.
Jungmann has demonstrated his commitment to supporting Missouri school administrators by serving as president of the Missouri Association of School Administrators and as a member of the American Association of School Administrators Governing Board and Executive Committee. In addition, he has been recognized by his peers on multiple occasions, including being named Missouri Superintendent of the Year by MASA in 2017, Administrator of the Year by the Missouri School Public Relations Association in 2016 and receiving the MASA Pearce Award in the spring of 2019.
Jungmann is a 1998 graduate of Missouri Southern State University and obtained his master's degree in education and specialist degree in educational administration from Missouri State University. He earned a doctorate in education from the University of Arkansas in 2006.
