Michael Ragan is a managing director in healthcare investment banking at Piper Sandler, where he focuses on mergers & acquisitions and strategic advisory for medical technology companies. He has more than 25 years of experience in medical technology investment banking, strategic finance and corporate development.

Ragan was previously a member of the Piper Sandler healthcare investment banking group. Prior to returning to the firm, he was senior vice president of finance, strategy and corporate development at Solventum (formerly 3M’s healthcare business), a leading global healthcare and Fortune 500 company. In that role, he led strategic finance and provided enterprise-wide analytical support for long-range planning, portfolio optimization, corporate development, transformation, operational excellence and capital deployment activities. Before that, he was an executive director in Morgan Stanley’s healthcare investment banking group where he advised medical technology companies. His transaction experience includes sell-side and buy-side mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, carve-outs and capital formation.

Ragan holds a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting and finance from Mays Business School at Texas A&M University.
