Rich Steiner

Rich Steiner oversees the Piper Sandler electronic trading desk and leads the firm’s equity market structure efforts. He promotes Piper Sandler thought leadership by educating clients on timely and relevant market structure topics and focuses on improving trading performance by incorporating micro-market structure nuances across the trading platform.

Steiner has a thorough understanding of equity market structure and the regulatory environment. He regularly advocates for more transparent and efficient markets for all industry participants and is recognized for his contributions to industry committees, including SIFMA, the Security Traders Association and the National Organization of Investment Professionals (NOIP).

Steiner currently serves on several industry groups, including the SIFMA Equity Markets & Trading Committee, and is a board member of NOIP and the Texas Stock Exchange. Prior to joining Piper Sandler, he held electronic and program trading positions at RBC Capital Markets, BNP Paribas, ITG and Goldman Sachs.
