Rouel Blanco, CFA
Rouel Blanco, CFA is a managing director in the loan strategies group at Piper Sandler.
In this role, he is responsible for assisting with transaction management, asset analytics and infrastructure development. This includes projecting cash flows, measuring historical prepayments and losses by vintage cohort, and generating detailed stratification reports across all asset classes – performing, sub-performing, non-performing and charged-off residential, commercial, and consumer loans and leases.
Over the past twenty years, prior to joining Piper Sandler, Blanco was the head of the strategic partners group on the loan trading desk at Stifel Financial, where he worked in a similar capacity and provided analysis and pricing across all non-CUSIP asset classes and served financial institutions across the country. He started his career at Keefe, Bruyette and Woods (a full-service investment bank that was acquired by Stifel), where, in addition to his responsibilities on the loan trading desk, he worked closely with the investment banking group in calculating fair market value loan marks in support of M&A transactions.
Blanco holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Cornell University and is a CFA charter holder. He is a FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 Registered Representative. Blanco is also an advisory committee board member of the non-profit, Lead the Way Fund, Inc.
