Stuart Essig

Stuart Essig was chief executive officer of Integra LifeSciences Corporation (NASDAQ: IART) from 1997 to 2012, has served as chairman of its board of directors since 2012 and executive chairman from 2024 to 2025. Before joining Integra LifeSciences, Essig was a managing director in the healthcare group at Goldman Sachs. While there he advised on mergers and acquisitions to a broad range of domestic and international medical technology, pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients. In addition to Integra LifeSciences, Essig currently serves on the board of directors of IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. (NASDAQ:IDXX), a global leader in pet healthcare innovation. From 1999 to 2017, Essig served on the board of directors at St. Jude Medical and has also sat on the boards of Zimmer Biomet, Owens & Minor and Orthofix.

Essig currently serves as a managing director of Prettybrook Partners LLC, a family office focused on investing in medical technology companies with approximately 25 active investments in a variety of companies, and is a venture partner at Wellington Partners Advisory AG, a venture capital firm. 

Essig received his Master of Business Administration and doctorate degrees in financial economics from the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business, and his bachelor’s degree from the School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.
