Tim Carlson
With over 28 years of investment banking experience, Tim Carlson has advised public and private energy companies and financial sponsors on over 165 transactions totaling more than $125 billion, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, shareholder/hostile takeover defense, special committee situations, capital raising and restructuring.
Prior to joining Piper Sandler, Carlson was a managing director and head of upstream at Intrepid Partners and senior managing director at Evercore Partners. Before that, Carlson held senior roles in the energy groups of JPMorgan, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Petrie Parkman, where he began his career.
Carlson received a bachelor's degree in economics and managerial studies from Rice University, where he was captain of the golf team and an Academic All-American. He has been a member of the Rice Initiative for the Study of Economics (RISE) council since 2018.
