William (“Will”) Nichols joined the energy, power & infrastructure investment banking group at Piper Sandler in 2013. He focuses exclusively on power and infrastructure supply chain (services, products and equipment) including utility-focused and off-grid businesses.

Previously, Nichols spent four years at Wells Fargo and worked in Citi’s global energy group, as well as the Mexico City corporate and investment banking office of its subsidiary, Banamex. With more than 17 years in the industry, Nichols has worked on more than 85 successful M&A, strategic advisory and capital markets projects totaling more than $25 billion in aggregate transaction value.

Nichols holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas. He earned his bachelor’s degree with distinction and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Colorado. Nichols served as a director of Phi Beta Kappa Alumni Association of Greater Houston for more than a decade, supporting 750 college scholarships for high school students in the Houston area.
