The bonds were enhanced by the Utah Credit Enhancement Program, earning a rating of “AA” by S&P, with an underlying rating of “BBB-”.

Proceeds of the Series 2026 Bonds were used to:

  • Fund the acquisition, construction, rehabilitation, renovation and equipping of classrooms and other facilities at GWA’s current location in St. George, Utah
  • Fund a deposit to the debt service reserve fund
  • Pay capitalized interest on the Series 2026 Bonds
  • Pay costs of issuance

About George Washington Academy

Founded in 2005, George Washington Academy is a K–7 public charter school located in St. George, Utah, currently operating its educational facilities at 2277 South 3000 East. GWA employs a research-based, academically rigorous Core Knowledge Sequence to ensure students meet and exceed the Utah State Core Curriculum. This curriculum is solid, sequential, and specific, grounded in the principle of establishing a national cultural literacy through a broad, common knowledge base. Currently, GWA serves 1,030 students in grades K–7.
