Andrew Dodd is a vice president in on the Piper Sandler social infrastructure public finance investment banking team. In this role, he serves a wide variety of higher education, independent school, student housing, multifamily housing and 501(c)3 borrowers in accessing capital in the municipal and private markets. Dodd joined Piper Sandler in 2021, after four years of prior investment banking and advisory experience. Over the course of his career, he has executed senior managed transactions totaling over $1 billion. 

Dodd began his public finance career in 2017 at George K. Baum & Company as a member of the higher education and nonprofit finance group. In this role, he executed tax-exempt and taxable bond transactions for college and university borrowers, as well as several P3 student housing transactions. He then worked at KeyBanc Capital Markets as a member of the infrastructure and development public finance group, supporting several high-profile development financings in the Western United States, including two large municipal bond transactions for the Deer Valley Resort expansion in Utah. 

During his career, Dodd has served many public and private higher education clients throughout the country, including Seattle University, Whitworth University, Whitman College, Pacific University, University of Puget Sound, Des Moines University, University of Dubuque, California College of the Arts, Davenport University, Missouri Baptist University, Michigan Tech University, South Dakota Board of Regents, University of Central Missouri, Loras College, Northern Illinois University, Orange Coast College, Rollins College, Cleveland Institute of Music, Nebraska State Colleges and Idaho State University. He has additionally supported transactions for K-12 independent schools including Saint Ignatius College Prep in San Francisco and the Laurel School in Ohio. 

As a member of the firm’s multifamily housing practice, he has supported tax-exempt bond financings for LIHTC developments in Ohio, Maryland and Iowa. Dodd additionally brings substantial experience working with non-profit owned affordable and workforce housing entities including Vail Home Partners Corporation and the Wisconsin Housing Preservation Corp. 

Dodd earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his master’s degree in finance magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame. He holds Series 50, 52 and 63 securities licenses.
